Why students shouldn't vote Tory
The Tories are going to up the level of student fees if elected.
I never surported student fees in the first place and I benfited from a Scottish education system which thanks to a Labour led executive provided an enviable education at no cost (many thanks to Jack McConnell for overseeing this!).
Student debt is horrible. You’ve just graduated, about to get your first real job and already you have thousands of pounds of debt.
Our further education must not turn into an elitist club which create pockets of the UK where your postcode determines your oppertunities. Everyone should have the ability to keep learning, no matter your age or financial capacity.
I do love London. It’s so varied and unexpected. I had the privlidge of having a meeting in the House of Lords today and you’ll see the outcome of that in the near future. Let’s just say that I think a true politician, with good values and the will to make a positive change for the country is in our midst.
I think Labour needs a stronger message - one if substance that can touch the heart of local and national issues and if you live in the Cities of London and Westminster it could be coming to you soon!
It's a small world!
Just bumped into George Folks at the Lords. it’s a small world!
I was grabbing some water when it occured to me how pink my staff room is! Very Sex and the City huh?
Ryanair
Well, I’ve just finished watching the Panorama documentary about Ryanair business practices and I have came to two conclusions:
1) Ryanair are hugely successful and does not seem to be turning away from that position. That has to be recognised as a stance of strong management and business acrnim from the CEO.
2) They have no respect for staff nor customers. This is a dangerous position to be in based on the lack of customer dedication to the business and creating a damaging brand.
Ryanair’s business plan and operational approach is ruthless and the prospect of failure is unrecognised. What will happen when they have pissed off all their customers? Perhaps they’ll buy Aer Lingus and operate under that title until they become damaged goods again?
What’s your thoughts?
Is anyone watching the Ryanair documentary tonight?

For anyone who doesn’t know what Clacton looks like, here is a picture of Fi and I at the pier on one of our visits. Nice huh?
Working from home...
I’m working from my temporary home in Clacton today. This gives me a bit of time to contemplate the challenges that I’ll be facing over the next 12 months as I look to settle into London life.
This morning I have David Gray playing on Spotify - there is something very relaxing about his music. Opted for the White Ladder 2007 album which is well worth a listen.
